Module Aims

Programming training is a key aspect of a strength and conditioning. This will take a range of types form classic periodization strategies through to long-term athlete development. The module will provide the student with a basic understanding of the periodisation process along with the prerequisite knowledge and understanding of growth, development and movement to enable the student to design and implement effective long-term player development programmes and periodised training plans.

# Learning Outcome
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the stages of motor and movement development and transfer and apply the concepts of growth, development and movement into the different stages of development within the broad framework of long-term athletic development.
LO2 Effectively assess the stage of motor skill development in the young athlete or player. This is based on developmental milestones of reflexive and rudimentary skills which are achieved at age points of the child.
