Module Aims

This module is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the foundation scientific principles underpinning the training process. Students will develop an understanding of the principles of training, components of fitness and the role of the coaching process in the delivery of strength and conditioning.

Content Summary

The module is designed to provide an introductory understanding of the scientific principles underpinning strength and conditioning. The module will consider programme design and how the principles and components are constructed to ensure effective development of athletic performance. The module will introduce how scientific enquiry and principles work with basic fitness and principles of training to support effective strength and conditioning design.
