Module Aims

When working with advanced athletes, a wider range of training tools are required, along with more detailed assessments. This module will provide the student with the required knowledge and practical competency to allow for the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of advanced methods and training interventions suitable for a wider range of athletes.

Content Summary

The module will examine a wider range of training approaches, and encourage an integrated and specific approach to training which is both athlete and sport specific. The module will consider the training interventions required by more advanced athletes, and will examine the rationale behind a range of advanced training methods. Students will be provided with practical instruction in these methods along with the opportunity to utilise these within their training as appropriate.
