Module Aims
This module aims to:
• equip learners with a sound understanding of the UK, EU and International intellectual property regime, focusing on the issues relating to copyright, trade marks and patents
• assist learners to develop legal analytical skills in international intellectual property law
• enhance domestic and comparative EU and international perspectives
• critically analyse the issues relating to international IP litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution

• The history and origins of International Intellectual Property regime
• analysis of legal frameworks of patent, trade marks and copyright in national, European, and international perspective
• nature and scope of the three main IP rights
• infringement and defences
• international IP litigation and alternative dispute resolution
• contemporary issues in intellectual property law and recent developments in patent, trade marks and copyright law
