Module Aims

To extend the student's appreciation and knowledge of Project Management Systems.

To embed the concept of the engineering society.

Content Summary

Definition of a project and its elements, Project organization, Requirement specification, Quality Assurance, Projects in industry, Tools and techniques, Milestones, Network techniques, e.g. Gantt, CPA, PERT; Finance, Resource acquisition and allocation, Project evaluation

Engineering Management principles commercial context, project and change management, and relevant legal matters including intellectual property right. To include business risk management.

Health and safety, diversity, inclusion, cultural, societal, environmental and commercial matters, codes of practice and industry standard.

Evaluate the environmental and societal impact of engineering solutions including ethical considerations.

Use of quality management systems to manage complex and possible multi-disciplinary problems.
