Valid To 31 Aug 2028

Module Aims

To introduce both traditional and digital drawing techniques.
To develop an understanding of visual design, scale, colour, proportion and composition.
To investigate the use of visual language in relation to game design.
To encourage students to evaluate their own work through reflective practice.

Content Summary

A game designer and game artist require an ability to visually communicate game concepts and ideas to a variety of audiences. The module provides a fundamental understanding of visual language and the artistic techniques required to produce representations of game concepts.
The module compliments and runs along other year 1 modules and helps underpin production work with a solid appreciation and practical evidence of drawing, design, observation and communication for games students.
It will allow for a body of work that can be taught and practised in class, studio or during external visits or reference trips.
