Module Aims

To introduce a broad understanding about how the English language works through examining the rules and usage of grammar, lexis and phonology.

Content Summary

The content will include areas associated with: traditional grammar of standard British English, meta-linguistic terminology, the form, use and meaning of parts of speech, word inflection, the rules of syntax and the study of the structure of lexical and phonological systems
