Module Aims
To introduce students to engineering principles in the areas of engineering mechanics, thermofluids and vehicle dynamics.
Content Summary
Second moment of area and polar moment axis theorem, moment of Inertia, velocity and acceleration diagrams, balancing of coplanar rotating masses. Vibration, gyroscopic motion.
Ideal gasses, incompressible gasses, PV diagrams and PV cycles, including the four-stroke cycle.
Introduction to vehicle and powertrain systems.
