Module Aims

To develop a broad understanding and application of Investment Appraisal, Investment Markets, Investment Performance, Investment Risk and Sustainable Investments.

To understand the Landlord and Tenant relationship and the application and impact of legislation on property value and management.

Content Summary

This modules content is designed to develop the students’ knowledge of investment appraisal and property management and provide them with the ability to apply this in several differing scenarios within the sector.

In this module the student will:

Develop an understanding of the Landlord and Tenant Valuations and their application in a variety of scenarios.

Be able to demonstrate of the impact of the Landlord and Tenant Act on property values.

Develop an understanding of Securitisation and Real Estate Investment Trusts.

Gain an understanding of Sustainability in the context of Real Estate Investment.

Develop an understanding Investment Performance and Risk Management in the Commercial Property Market.

Analyse Commercial Property Markets and Commercial Property data to understand Investment Performance and Risk Management of Assets.

Develop an understanding of the role of the property manager.

Develop an understanding of the use of property portfolios and the management of property portfolios.

Lectures will involve discussions around various market conditions to further the knowledge gained in relation to the application of valuation methods and where possible utilise case studies to demonstrate real life application of the content.
