Module Aims
This module will introduce students to documentation and paperwork types that are used across the disciplines within event production.
How requirements for documentation to be produced has changed and increased over time will be explored.
The use of CAD in the modern workflow within events production will be discussed, with time spent becoming familiar with software package options.
Content Summary
Methods that can be employed to convey an idea to an end-client.
Requirements for paperwork within production, and the types of documents that can be produced across different industry disciplines.
Use of manual tools and techniques, to produce to-scale diagrams, plots, plans and designs.
Computer aided design software options will be explored for the following disciplines:
2D to-scale venue and site drawings
3D to-scale venue and site drawings
Lighting design paperwork
Lighting pre-visualisations
Sound output predictions
Video editing tools will be explored to a basic level.
Discussion around use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) will be encouraged.
This module contains a six-week immersive learning element.
