Module Aims

Develop core recording skills, whilst recognising the impact of how sound works, room acoustics and the quality of audio.

To introduce and develop the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to be successful in the recording studio environment.

To recall, discuss and develop recording techniques on a variety of instruments.

Content Summary

Learners will acquire the fundamentals of audio, studio recording and acoustics within this module. You will learn the basics of sound and put it into practice in the recording studio environment. Through a variety of seminars, workshops and lecturers you will engage with a variety of techniques, how to operate studio equipment both within the Universities studios and external studios.

This module not only teaches the practical studio engineering but makes the learners understand the environment and real life expectations.
