Module Aims

The independent study will equip learners with relevant skills to execute a piece of written work that critically reflects upon a chosen area of study.

To demonstrate a detailed perspective in one of the sub-disciplines of professional audio.

Content Summary

learners will initially attend a series of preparatory workshops on potential subject areas and research methodologies/approaches, after which they will begin the process of formulating detailed proposals with tutor assistance. Proposals will document their area of study, research methods, ethics documentation, time plan and mode of delivery.

In agreement with a named supervisor, learners will agree on a field of study and will work, with regular timetabled supervisions, toward a major piece of individual research coupled with a written reflective critical analysis. The module is of an academic character and should be informed by work undertaken in previous modules.
