Module Aims

The module aims to enable students to develop an understanding of learning for teachers by evaluating how and why teachers learn to develop professionally and to improve their teaching practice.

Content Summary

On successful module completion students will have developed an understanding of the difference between teacher training and teacher development, teacher development strategies, teacher identity, top-down/bottom-up professional development, mentor-led development, and reflective practice for continued autonomous professional development.
