Module Aims
The aim of this module is to enable students to gain interpersonal and academic skills for a successful University experience. It is a key module that supports the immersive learning experience, designed to increase course and student identity, and equip students with transferable, professional research skills that enable them to apply their learning in the field social care.
Content Summary
The Personal study skills element will address:
• Academic writing and communication skills, information searching, problem solving, critical analysis and reflection related to area of study.
The IT skills element will address:
• Being able to use digital tools in order to enhance research skills and work with young people. Engaging with the virtual learning environment (VLE) for support, guidance and assessment opportunities via digital platforms.
Employability skills element will address:
• Planning and structuring written work reports and presentations. Also general skills, such as planning workload, managing time and managing self.
