Module Aims
To develop knowledge and understanding of managing individual development within employment as required by a practicing or potential leader and manager in health and social care.
Content Summary
Students are provided with the opportunity to perform research into developing aspects of the health, wellbeing and social care practitioner.
The module also requires students to investigate the broad range of health, wellbeing and social care careers and to
prepare a skills and experiences review; reflection of these two activities allows students to create an analytical
action plan geared towards a range of career goals. In addition, students are able to develop presentation skills to
prepare them for graduate recruitment and selection processes.
Professional speakers across a range of organisations and roles provide the students with timely and relevant
information; in addition, these sessions provide opportunities to network and further fine tune their professional
online presence.
Students are expected to undertake 148 hours of CPD/volunteering, which can include their paid employment if in a relevant sector.
*Where work-based learning is not possible, evidence of continuous professional development will be required.
