Module Aims
To support and develop student’s skills and abilities to ensure they are able to identify opportunities and engage with sport, play and outdoor learning as tools for positive development in young people within their community setting.
For the student to examine the development of young people through the medium of sport, play and outdoor learning, with emphasis on targeted provision and outcome informed reflection.

Part 1 – Outdoor learning, Play and Sport for development:
Adventure theory
Play work principles and risky play
Aligning O/Ed, play & sport with National Occupational Standards (CLDSC, 2019)
Report writing/Observation
Values in Sport, Play & O/Ed – Inclusion, equity, risk, experiential learning, exploration, adventure/misadventure/frontier learning, team v’s individual, participation.
