Module Aims

To introduce the student to the concept of performance within a variety of sports, including the components of fitness, player physical characteristics, methods of fitness assessments and training approaches.

Content Summary

Overview of components of fitness.

Introduction to periodisation for training and competition.

Physiological, biomechanical & psychological demands of various popular sports.

Methods of fitness assessment in sports.

Methods of performance enhancement in sports.

Practical sessions related to above and USW High Performance Sport programme.
