Module Aims

This module aims to enable students to demonstrate the skills necessary to produce a scholarly, in-depth, empirical research study, resource, or report.

Content Summary

This module is largely self-directed with the student utilising their time and project management skills to design and conduct a research project relevant to the course subject area.

The student, under the guidance of the project supervisor(s), will pro-actively determine the content of the module.

This will normally include finalising an appropriate research question and implementing a research design appropriate to their area of enquiry. Students will undertake the proposed programme of research whilst maintaining regular contact with their supervisor. A minimum of 9 hours of contact with the supervisor is recommended. This may be supported by regular phone or email, but preferably face-to-face contact.
