Module Aims

To instil confidence in the learner to consider using Welsh in the workplace and community.

Content Summary

This module will build on the language ability of 'non fluent' Welsh learners and encourage them to further develop their Welsh language skills.  They will be given a variety of tasks based on their specialist academic field / potential career, either in a class or online.  The written emphasis will be on a limited list of terms and phrases.  With spoken Welsh, the attention will be on phrases that are likely to regularly arise in the workplace.

This module can be a step towards studying the set of Eich Gyrfa a’r Gymraeg modules for 'fluent' Welsh learners and ultimately, the Tystysgrif Sgiliau Iaith which is a qualification offered by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to test the ability to communicate professionally through the medium of Welsh.
