Module Aims
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an increasing area of interest for contemporary businesses, particularly when considering LLMs and Generative AI.
This module aims to build students’ confidence in using a range of AI tools in order to generate text, images, and other creative outputs suitable for use in a business context. Students will have a chance to practice using different AI tools, and to develop their ability to effectively manipulate the outputs of these tools to suit the purposes of business.
The module also aims to equip students with the tools to critically analyse the ethicality of AI use in business, to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of AI use, and to understand where and when it is most appropriate to use AI.
Content Summary
The module will be delivered over 10 weeks of 3 hour workshops. Workshops will include content on the following topics:
Introduction to a range of AI tools, particularly generative AI
Comparison of different AI tools
Limitations of current AI technology
Future trends in AI development and use
Privacy considerations when using AI
Debates around the ethicality of AI use in business
Effective Uses of AI
