Module Aims
•To allow students to explore and develop performance on camera, live and in a workshop environment.
•To introduce students to actor/director training methodologies including acting for camera, constructing character, improvisation, textual analysis and ensemble-based working practices.
•To enable students to perform individually and within a group.
•To understand performance making as an intellectual and aesthetic practice.
Content Summary
The staff led module offers students the opportunity to develop and apply the skills necessary to work effectively and collaboratively in a studio environment.
Students will collaborate to interpret, explore and perform devised, scripted and conceptual material. Also, to document and critically reflect on the performance making approaches and methods encountered in the module.
Students will be supported in material choices, performance dynamics, directorial exploration and will be introduced to elements of technical performance recording.
Students will work creatively to plan and to produce practical outcomes that explore auditory, spatial and creative coherence of performance as actor/director.
