Module Aims
To further develop an understanding of property valuation including modern methods of valuation and statutory valuations.
To enable students to develop critical awareness of valuation reflecting on current practice and apply these methods to a variety of property types.
Content Summary
This modules content is designed to develop the students’ knowledge of property valuation and provide them with the ability to apply this in several differing scenarios within the sector.
In this module the student will:
• Develop an understanding of Modern Methods of valuation and their application in a variety of scenarios.
• Develop an understanding and application of Statutory Valuations such as rating and compulsory purchase.
• Develop an understanding and application of Contemporary Valuations reflecting on current practice.
• Develop an understanding of repairs, maintenance, and service charges.
• Develop critical awareness of property valuation techniques across a variety of properties and markets.
Lectures will involve discussions around various market conditions to further the knowledge gained in relation to the application of valuation methods and where possible utilise case studies to demonstrate real life application of the content.
