Module Aims
To instruct students in surveying techniques appropriate for film and television design.
To survey and record information accurately to then produce working drawings manually and digitally. To understand the context of how surveying is used within film and TV.
Content Summary
Students will be taught how to record accurate data from a location.
Students will initially work in small groups to survey a location, recording measurements accurately.
Students will then use this information to produce accurate scale plans and orthographic drawings to reflect industry standard. Techniques for measuring interior/ exterior structures will be addressed, ranging from small scale details to inaccessible parts of buildings.
Accurate scale orthographic drawings will be produced manually and digitally resulting in a thorough awareness of plan, section, elevation and detail.
Drawing conventions, format and scale will be addressed in detail.
