Module Aims

The module aims to equip learners with advanced competencies in strategic project management and consultancy integration within dynamic business environments.

 The module aims to holistically develops skills in leading, consulting, and managing complex projects to align with organisational goals and sustainability. Combining theory and practice, it fosters critical thinking and strategic decision-making, empowering students to tackle challenges at all project stages.

The module aims to develop understanding of project management and corporate strategy, focusing on project charters, stakeholder engagement, and resource allocation. Integrating consultancy principles and sustainable practices, it prepares students to tackle organisational challenges, fostering innovation, resilience, and strategic agility.

On completion of the module students will be confident leaders and consultants capable of driving sustainable business growth and delivering strategic value in the competitive business landscape.

Content Summary

This module immerses learners in advanced leadership and consultancy strategies for managing projects, with a focus on sustainability integration. Learners will critically evaluate the alignment of projects with organisational objectives, exploring the interaction between project management, corporate strategy, and consultancy insights.

During the initiation phase, learners will engage in strategic decision-making processes, analysing project selection criteria, stakeholder engagement strategies, and sustainability frameworks. They will synthesise complex theories and empirical evidence (such as case studies) to analyse the role of projects in driving sustainable business growth while synthesising advanced consultancy practices.

As they progress through the planning stage, learners will scaffold their strategic project planning competencies, employing scenario analysis techniques, and sustainability metrics. They will cultivate the ability to critically appraise and prioritise sustainability imperatives, applying advanced consultancy frameworks to inform strategic project decisions such as McKinsey’s 7S framework.

Execution and control phases will support learners to construct their leadership capabilities, challenging them to lead cross-functional teams with agility and foresight. Through conflict resolution strategies and dynamic stakeholder management techniques, learners will navigate the intricacies of strategic alignment, emphasising sustainability principles and adaptive risk management practices.

Finally, in the project closure phase, learners will demonstrate mastery in capturing strategic insights and fostering a culture of organisational learning for continuous improvement. They will communicate project outcomes effectively, leveraging advanced consultancy methodologies to embed project insights into strategic planning processes while ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives.
