Module Aims

To enable participants to critically explore leadership theories and drivers, including policy development, which facilitate personal, professional and organisational change in SCPHN Health Visiting practice. 

To enable participants to analyse and critically evaluate collaboration and co-production through applying change management and quality improvements in SCPHN Health Visiting field of practice.

Content Summary

The content will critically appraise and examine: 

Leadership styles, including compassionate leadership and reflective practice, and incorporating workplace cultures and managing teams and conflict.

Co-production, collaboration, participation and building partnerships, including advanced communication skills such as the use of digital and other modalities.

Policy development and strategies, including making professional decisions, judgements and prioritisation strategies incorporating approaches for prevention and risk management.  

Service design, including assessment of service requirements, implementation and evaluation of service provision.

The promotion of SCPHN Health Visiting services, including marketing and service visibility, access for all populations and communities.

Applying human rights, equality, diversity and inclusion, including critical awareness of stigma and potential for bias.

Audit, governance, performance monitoring and quality Improvement.

Change Management, including the use and synthesis of data, evidence, research and audit to inform new and innovative SCPHN practices .

Tailoring nationwide programmes or commissioning new services that promote healthy cultures, environments and behaviours for local implementation and evaluate their effectiveness.

Dissemination and influence, including raising awareness and educating others of SCPHN services and diverse issues affecting populations and environments, especially in relation to sustainable development goals.

Entrepreneurship, including writing business cases & service commissioning, with professional business and financial acumen.
