Module Aims

To facilitate the intentional and ethical use of a range of advanced counselling skills within an integrative framework of counselling theory

To critically reflect own and others skills development to provide constructive evaluation of own development and own development in relation to others

Content Summary

Skills: working with challenge and ambivalence, using questions and probes, advanced empathy, immediacy, self-disclosure, information giving, focusing.

Theory: Understanding a model of integration in terms of beginning, middle and end stages, focusing on the middle stage. Understanding different theoretical perspectives and their influence on practice
