Module Aims

To develop academic and evidence based skills to become critical and evaluative professionals.

Content Summary

In this module, students will take a critical approach to understanding how evidence based decision making is based on data collection and critical reflection. Therefore this module will cover:

i) Understanding what it means to be an evidence-based practitioner and leader

ii) Academic, critical based reading, thinking and writing.

Q, quantitative and mixed research methods approaches to inform data collection and critical evaluation.

LO1 On completion of the module, the student will be able to understand the importance of evidence based practice; ensuring the utilization of collecting, analysing and synthesising qualitative and quantitative information and to apply what they have learnt to be able to critically evaluate literature, allowing conclusions to be drawn.
