Module Aims
The main aims of the module are:
To enable students to put their learning into practice in a real-world context.
To facilitate an understanding of the key stages of a marketing project.
Content Summary
At this point in the course, students are ready to put their knowledge into action. This module provides a dual award from both the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)* and the University of South Wales, offering students a valuable professional credential alongside their academic course. It centres on a substantial workplace experience that enables students to explore the connections between marketing theory and industry practice by applying their knowledge in real-world settings. Through an intensive seven-week marketing placement, students will gain meaningful exposure to professional environments, engage with employers, and develop insights into contemporary marketing challenges. During this placement, students will complete a work-based project that demonstrates their ability to contribute to organisational objectives while reflecting on their own developing professional identity. Overall, the module equips students with practical experience, industry engagement, and enhanced employability skills.
*To obtain the CIM dual award, students must hold CIM studying membership and pay an additional fee of approximately £200.
