Module Aims
The main aims of the module are:
To develop a critical understanding of services marketing thinking and its implications for marketing practice.
To encourage strategic thinking and innovation in service and experience design.
Content Summary
People increasingly buy experiences rather than products, and services now dominate global economies - making experiential value creation critical for sustaining long-term competitive advantage. This module encourages students to think strategically beyond traditional, often product-centred marketing approaches, and to explore how services and experiences can be reconceptualised, designed, justified, and implemented to create meaningful value. Through the critical application of services and experiential marketing theory, students will examine how organisations craft impactful customer experiences and will apply these concepts within an authentic context. By designing and defending their own service or experience-based solution, students will develop the ability to justify strategic decisions and demonstrate a nuanced understanding of contemporary service-led marketing practice.
