Module Aims
The main aims of the module are:
For students to develop the required academic literacies for their degree in Business and Management
To integrate students into both a degree and wider South Wales Business School community
To guide students in developing the framework they will need to become a ‘Business Leader of Tomorrow’ with clear links to the USW Graduate Outcomes.
Content Summary
Launch your Leadership Journey is an immersive module designed to introduce students to both university-level study and the dynamic world of business and management. As the first module in the degree, it equips students with essential academic, professional, and interpersonal skills needed to thrive in higher education and beyond. Through interactive workshops, live business challenges, and reflective practice, students will explore what it means to be an ethical, innovative, and future-focused business leader. The module develops critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and research abilities while introducing core business concepts and contemporary issues such as sustainability, technology, and globalisation. By the end of the module, students will have built confidence as independent learners, understood the expectations of degree-level study, and begun to develop a framework to shape their own identity as the business leaders of tomorrow.
