To build students’ confidence in the workplace and in professional contexts
To develop students’ ability to reflect on the workplace and apply the skills they have learnt in addressing challenges to a workplace context.
Content Summary
This level 5 module will allow students to have an authentic workplace experience in the creative industries as part of their degree. Students who complete this module will undertake a 150-hour placement in a creative business over 5 weeks – working Tuesday-Friday each week through this period, alongside classes every Monday building students’ skills and confidence in the workplace.
Students will either need to complete this workplace experience in a creative industry or at USW working with the Immersed Festival.
Throughout their placement, students will be encouraged to observe and reflect on workplace behaviours, ultimately identifying a challenge in their placement provider and writing a report for that company suggesting an initiative or improvement to address that challenge.
Overall, this module will allow students to build connections in the workplace, develop their CV, and have an authentic working experience within the field of Business and Management.
