Module Aims

The main aims of the module are:

Aim 1 – To enable students to synthesise, develop and deliver innovative evidence-based solutions for complex business-based scenarios provided by current businesses.

Aim 2 – To provide an environment where students can be critical within the business landscape and offer viable solutions for an impactful consultancy output.

Aim 3 - To encourage students to create critical self-reflections throughout the module, whilst utilising their consultancy experiences to shape future professional opportunities and life-long learning.

Content Summary

The Consultancy Challenge will provide opportunities for students to immerse themselves into the challenges that current business consultants, businesses and project management teams face on a regular basis. This module is a capstone project that enables students to critique a client brief by highlighting potential opportunities and potential problems on the horizon.

Students will evaluate the perspective of businesses and the individuals within them to harness and nurture scenarios businesses face. Students enrolled on this module will be provided with tools and techniques to become business consultants in an extremely competitive industry which will include the process of applying for tenders to provide a professional and industry embedded experience. Within the 7-week module, students will engage with a client and their client’s brief by developing a report, delivering an in-depth client focussed presentation and participating in reflective practice. By the end of this module, all participating students will have been provided with opportunities to apply and merge theoretical knowledge with practical challenges whilst simultaneously preparing themselves for careers in entrepreneurship, management, and consultancy.
