Are you passionate about inspiring active, healthy lifestyles in young people? This module equips you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make a real difference. You’ll explore the principles and practices of Physical Education (PE), health, and wellbeing in schools and communities, building a strong foundation for careers in teaching, sport development, and health promotion.
The module combines theory with hands-on experience, covering physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, inclusive pedagogy, safeguarding, and wellbeing interventions - all aligned with the UK National Curriculum for PE and professional standards from AfPE and CIMSPA. Through practical workshops and challenge-based tasks, you’ll design age-appropriate PE resources for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, create wellbeing campaigns, and develop strategies to overcome barriers to participation.
Distinctive features include digital resource creation and collaborative projects that mirror real-world practice. You’ll also gain transferable skills in leadership, communication, and digital literacy which are highly valued by employers.
