Content Summary

In this module, you’ll explore how sport organisations manage people, performance, and practice to drive success. You’ll be introduced to key leadership and management theories, and learn how teamwork, communication, and motivation shape organisational culture and effectiveness. Through real-world examples and interactive activities, you’ll examine how sport managers lead diverse teams, foster inclusion, and respond to ethical challenges.

As part of your Level 4 journey, this module builds the foundation for deeper study in HRM in Sport and Policy, Law & Governance in Sport. You’ll develop essential skills in leadership, collaboration, and professional behaviour, key attributes for careers in sport management, coaching, and development.

Distinctive features include simulation-based learning, case studies from sport organisations, and a focus on contemporary issues such as diversity, ethics, and the external environment. You’ll complete a simulation and exam (MCQ) assessment that helps you apply theory to practice and reflect on your own leadership potential.
