Module Aims

The main aims of the module are:

  • To provide students with an authentic experience, widening their perspectives and boosting their employability.

  • To encourage critical reflection on students’ own learning and development as leaders.

Content Summary

This module offers students the chance to gain an authentic work placement or international experience as part of their degree.

Students who choose to study this module will embark on a ‘sandwich’ year placement, including full year work experience, providing students the opportunity to gain significant experience in the workplace to boost their CV. These placements are either UK based, International or a mix of both.

Placements are competitive, and students will need to apply for these positions – with support provided by the university in applying for placement roles either in the UK or abroad and applying for funding if required.

At the end of the year, students will reflect on the experience they have had and how it has contributed to their development as the leaders of tomorrow.
