Module Aims

The module aims to deliver an underpinning of the technical requirements of the live music environment, contextualised through the delivery small format events, alongside the foundational knowledge of working as a freelancer within industry.

Content Summary

Through a series of lectures and practical workshops, this module will broadly cover subject matter in the following areas:

Understanding the sound of live music on stage and associated audio system design considerations

Analysing the role of amplification & reinforcement of sound

Investigate mixing and monitoring techniques utilised in a live music environment through the use of digital mixers

Recognise the requirements of artists in order to be able to perform comfortably and successfully.
