Content Summary
Art Hackathon, provides an intensive, challenge-led environment where students engage in competitive and collaborative creative production. Structured around short, high-impact hackathon-style challenges, the module encourages students to respond to live competitions, external opportunities, or internally set problems. It supports the development of transferable skills applicable across game art, animation, illustration, and wider digital creative industries.
Students will work individually and in teams to generate rapid concepts, prototypes, and resolved outcomes within compressed timeframes. Emphasis is placed on creative risk-taking, innovation, and adaptability, alongside professional skills such as pitching, communication, and teamwork. Research and analysis underpin each response, ensuring ideas are informed by relevant artistic, cultural, and technical influences.
The module reflects contemporary industry practices where artists must respond quickly to briefs and opportunities. By completion, students will have produced a portfolio of competition-ready work demonstrating creativity, versatility, and professional awareness.
