  • Enable students to establish a professional identity and portfolio direction.

Content Summary

This module prepares students for professional practice by combining critical research with strategic career development. Students will investigate areas of game art and related creative industries aligned to their personal interests, identifying specialisms, trends, and employment opportunities. Through structured research and analysis, students will define a clear professional direction, supported by an understanding of industry expectations, pipelines, and emerging technologies.

Alongside this, students will develop a tailored career strategy, including portfolio planning, personal branding, and employability assets such as CVs, online presence, and targeted applications. The module encourages reflective practice, enabling students to evaluate their skills and position themselves within a competitive market.

USW careers will be involved in the delivery of this module.

Academic integrity and appropriate academic practice are embedded within the career module, with students required to evidence authorship, apply Harvard referencing conventions, and critically reflect on research.
