Module Aims
To support students in completing and refining their major project through post-production processes, ensuring work meets appropriate production and visual quality standards.
To develop students’ ability to position and showcase their work effectively through showreels, portfolios and online platforms, demonstrating a clearly defined specialist skill.
To encourage professional awareness and industry readiness, including self-promotion, communication and preparation for employment or further study.
Content Summary
This module focuses on the completion, refinement and professional presentation of your major project. Building on the production work developed in previous modules, you will finalise your project through post-production processes such as editing, sound design, compositing and final polishing, ensuring that your work achieves an appropriate standard of technical and visual quality.
Alongside completing your project, you will develop industry-facing materials including a professional showreel, portfolio and online presence, enabling you to effectively communicate your specialist skills, creative identity and professional capabilities to potential employers, clients and collaborators. The module emphasises portfolio presentation, self-promotion, professional communication and an understanding of contemporary industry expectations. You will determine how your work is curated, presented and positioned through portfolio development, showreel construction, professional branding and career-focused presentation strategies aligned with your individual goals, specialist interests and intended career pathway.
Through feedback, review and engagement with professional practice, you will refine both your work and your creative identity while preparing for progression into employment, freelance practice, entrepreneurship or further study. By the end of the module, you will have completed a professionally presented body of work and a portfolio that demonstrates your specialist skills, technical abilities and creative strengths.
As a Level 6 module, Major Project: Post-Production and Promotion supports the transition from education to professional practice, helping you present your work confidently and position yourself effectively within the animation and creative industries.
