Module Aims
To support students in producing a substantial body of work that demonstrates a clearly defined specialist skill within animation or related creative practice.
To develop students’ ability to sustain production through continuous refinement, maintaining consistency, quality and appropriate technical and creative standards.
To encourage independent working practices and professional approaches to production, including time management, problem-solving and effective use of specialist workflows.
Content Summary
This module focuses on the sustained production of your major project, enabling you to develop and realise a substantial body of work that demonstrates your chosen specialist skills and creative interests. Building on the workflows, testing and refinement established in the previous module, you will continue production through the creation of animation, sequences, assets or portfolio material aligned with your chosen area of practice.
The module emphasises consistency, quality and professional production standards, supporting you in maintaining momentum and progressing your project towards completion. Through ongoing production activity, you will refine your technical and creative approaches, respond to feedback, solve production challenges and evaluate the effectiveness of your work through ongoing refinement and critical review. You will continue to shape the direction of your work through decisions relating to specialist practice, production methodologies, creative solutions and professional aspirations, enabling highly personalised project outcomes.
Depending on the nature of your project and specialist role, you may work independently and/or collaboratively while applying professional workflows, project management strategies and production planning techniques. By the end of the module, you will have developed a substantial portfolio of production work that demonstrates technical competence, creative ambition and specialist expertise.
As a Level 6 module, Major Project: Production supports the creation of high-quality, professionally focused work and prepares you for final completion, presentation and industry-facing outcomes in the concluding stage of your major project.
