1) Critically explore influences on advanced clinical practice.

2) Critically analyse current views & understanding of health care provision within its social, political & economic context as it applies to fields of care relevant to students’ situation.

3) Critically evaluate practice using legal & ethical perspectives.

Content Summary

Advanced Clinical Practice will be critically explored with direct reference to the following themes:

• Underpinning legal frameworks.

• Ethical issues.

• Current perspectives in health & social policy.

• Public Health – health promotion, lifestyle & behaviour issues.

• Current issues in evidence based practice.

• Decision-making & problem solving.

• Working with networks & organisations to maximise effectiveness & efficiency.

• Leadership and management dimensions.

• Education & competence for the ‘Advanced Clinical Practitioner’.
