Module Aims

This module aims to develop knowledge of the technical and logistical requirements of the music festival and touring sectors the event production industry.

Content Summary

Through lectures, tutorials and practical/workshop sessions, students will engage with the following areas:

Appraisal of the music festival and touring environments, and their specific technical requirements

Analysis of the technical roles within the festival and touring sector.

Recognition of the logistical challenges of a music festival as both a receiving and touring team.

Construction of meaningful technical advance documentation, and artist riders.

Understanding the requirements of the event professional within a festival and touring environment

Developing knowledge of temporary demountable structures, specific to the festival environment

Considering the mental health impact that a high stress environment can cause.

Explore the variety of routes into the industry and identify suitable pathways.

This module contains a six-week immersive learning element.
