Module Aims
To extend skills and knowledge acquired in “Preparation for Work – Year 1†and apply these to further examples of psychology in the workplace.
Content Summary
This module will extend students' understanding of the practical application of psychology within a range of work settings; students will extend their knowledge of ethical and professional issues in psychology along with the consideration and application of psychological techniques and theories in a number of work related scenarios. Topics will change from year to year but may include antisocial behaviour, working with adolescents, eyewitness testimony, health behaviour, deception, psychopathology and occupational assessment and testing. Class simulations will cover a range of workplace settings including hospital, community healthcare, probation, police and school settings.
