Educational Aim
o The main aims of the course are: BSc Top up Level 6
o Enable students to further develop the knowledge, expertise, skills, personal qualities and attitudes necessary for a high standard of practice with children and young people
o Provide a critical perspective for a range of careers within the children and young people’s sector, and facilitate the student’s ability to challenge current practice.
o Consolidate, motivate and promote the flexibility which will be the basis for future career development or enhancement.
o Prepare the student for future learning and study, including other graduate programmes.

Entry Requirements
Admission to the course is typically through the following qualifications:
To progress onto the Top up year at level 6, students need to successfully complete 240 credits at level 4/5 on the Foundation Degree or an equivalent course of study relating to children and young people through the University Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). We have discussed providing the opportunity of progression to those students who have the L4, L5 Preparing for Leadership and Management in Children’s Care Learning Play and Development, particularly since level 4 has been aligned to the newly validated course.
